Cathode Ray Tubes (or CRTs) is essentially the picture tube found in most conventional televisions and computer monitors. The California Department of Toxics and Substance Control (DTSC) has stated that the material in Cathode Ray Tubes is hazardous and that CRTs are banned from California municipal landfills. Each cathode ray tube contains approximately five to seven pounds of lead as well as other hazardous constituents. See the DTSC Legislative Summary Report to learn more about CRT monitors.

Unfortunately we can only accept UC Davis monitors. If you have a personal computer monitor that needs recycling, visit the Yolo County Electronic Waste website for information on proper disposal. Remember! As of February 2006, it is illegal to throw away any electronic devices. Please do your part and dispose of them properly.
