Advantages of Reducing Waste

  • Decrease the university's cost of land filling
  • Saves time and energy spent cleaning waste
  • Reduces impact on the environment

Food Tips

Serve food items that do not require utensils:

  • Hamburgers
  • Hot Dogs
  • Sandwiches
  • Finger Foods

Serve food items with minimal waste:

  • Cupcakes
  • Corndogs
  • Ice Cream Cones

Utensils and Eating Surfaces

  • Use toothpicks in place of disposable wares
  • Use reusable paper products, which can be composted when done with
  • Avoid using Styrofoam
  • When serving food, use reusable containers such as Tupperware
  • Encourage people to bring mugs or reusable cups and utensils

Condiments

Avoid Using individual condiment packets, use large dispensers or bottles instead
