A caterer's guide to Zero Waste Practices at UC Davis events.

What is the University doing? The UC Davis campus has a goal to recycle 75% of materials discarded on campus by 2012 and to reach zero waste by the year 2020.

How is that possible? Through innovative composting and recycling projects, we are moving the campus toward zero waste. In order for this effort to succeed, we need to make changes in our catering practices.

What does that mean for caterers? Caterers are a crucial partner in the campus effort to meet our Zero Waste goals. When an event planner commits to Zero Waste principles, they agree to eliminate potential sources of waste from their event and to only provide food service items that are recyclable or compostable. Please review the list below:
