Handbills & Flyers

Students tend to leave flyers behind
R4 Recycling strongly advises organizations not to hand out handbills or flyers in the classrooms because:
  • Students tend to leave them behind
  • The handbills thus becomes litter
  • It is illegal to litter on campus property
  • The organization whose name is on the handbill/flyer will be deemed responsible for the litter
Illegal and excessive posting results in litter on campus and increases the work load of our Grounds laborers, who have to remove postings and restore the natural features to their original state.

Consequences of Posting Violations

  • Commercial advertising on State property without lawful permission is a misdemeanor1
  • The organization responsible will be fined a clean up fee of $45 per hour of Grounds labor, starting at 2 hours
