Resource Recovery Drive

2008: June 5-12

moving out?

What is the Resource Recovery Drive? The Resource Recovery Drive is a move out event that allows students living in the residence halls to donate their unwanted items as they pack rather than throwing them away. Some items go to charity, while others will be used to hold a thrift store like sale at the beginning of the following year.

What Can I Donate? All Items must be clean and in good condition. NO BROKEN ITEMS AND NO TRASH!

ALL ITEMS LEFT AT A DONATION SITE ARE UNIVERSITY PROPERTY. THOSE WHO TAKE ITEMS WITHOUT CONSENT WILL BE PERSECUTED

Accepted Not Accepted
Clothing Carpets
Linens Foam beds
Kitchenware Large appliances
Small appliances and TVs Undergarments
Reusable furniture Perishable food
  Socks
  Pillows
  Used toiletry

How Do I Donate?

  • Get a Resource Recovery Bag from your ASD
  • Place the acceptable items into the bags and tie them up to close them. There will be instructions on the bags in how to properly tie them. Please follow them.
  • Make sure to place soft and lightweight items such as linens and clothes into the bags. Keep hard and heavy acceptable items such as TVs and reusable furniture separate from the soft and lightweight items.
  • Drop off the items at the designated drop-off locations (which you can see on the maps provided).
