The Mania Returns in 2008!
Last year UC Davis was placed 27th overall out of over 200 universities. This year we can do better, so get involved and let's push UC Davis to the top!
What is RecycleMania?
- RecycleMania is a friendly competition among college and university recycling programs.
- For the first time this year RecycleMania will include both Student Housing and Select Staff Departments on campus!
- Provides the campus community with a fun, proactive activity in waste reduction.
- Campuses compete in four different categories
- The largest amount of recyclables per capita
- The largest amount of recyclables
- The least amount of trash per capita
- The highest recycling rate
- Ends April 11
Who is participating?
Currently, there are over 400 colleges and universities nationwide participating in RecycleMania 2008. For a list of the participating schools click here.
How do I participate in RecycleMania?
Simply collect and recycle all of your recyclable materials! These materials include:
- Paper
- Paperboard
- Catalogs
- Hard and softbound books
- Junk mail
- Magazines
- Newspaper
- Office paper (all colors)
- Phone books
- Containers
- #1 and #2 plastic
- Aluminum cans
- Glass
- Steel cans
- Baled and unbaled cardboard boxes
