Resource Recovery Drive 2005

From June 9th to June 17th, the R4 Recycling Program and Student Housing mobilized the 13th Annual Resource Recovery Drive.

The goal of the drive was to salvage reusable items from the on-campus housing move-outs in order to reduce waste and to promote reuse at UC Davis.

Leading up to the event, R4 educated residents about the drive by distributing flyers and tabling at the four Dining Commons.

Residents were asked to fill the bags provided to them with items such as clothing, shoes, linens, electronics, and school supplies. Mixed
Paper and Beverage carts were also placed at each donation site for all the essays, papers, bottles, and cans that the residents accumulated over the school year.

R4 made daily collections of the donations and subsequently sorted the items to have the materials organized for the 3nd annual Rescued Resource Exchange in the fall.

The drive collected over 2000 cubic feet of materials.
