RecycleMania 2005

Recycle Mania is a friendly competition amongst nearly 100 participating colleges in the United States that provides students with a fun, proactive activity in waste reduction. This is UC Davis' second year participating in this exciting event. Each participating colleges have ten weeks to collect the most recycling within the resident halls. Recycling will be measured weight per resident. The winner of this competition will receive the Recycle Mania trophy and an appearance in campus newspapers in participating colleges.

  Per Capita Classic: 13th place, 40.55 lbs. recyclables/person
  Waste Minimization: 26th place, 116.47 lbs. waste/person
  Paper: 24th place, 10.81 lbs./person
  Cardboard: 3rd place, 28.58 lbs./person
  Bottles and Cans: 11th place, 7.05 lbs./person
  Food Service Organics: 9th place, 6.87 lbs./person
